I think you are right. We don't need to protect our children from the gospel. Neither do we need to be afraid of their understanding of it. They may grasp it on a deeper level than we do. Remember your brother's reaction to Brutus betraying Caesar? He really got it! I had read it so many times that I was numb to it! He felt it!

Audrey, I completely agree with you. I have read stories to my kids directly from the "adult" Bible, and I have fielded questions from them about things that might cause many parents to gasp. But it is powerful, this Bible we read. And I want my kids to know what it says, so they can walk in truth.

agree as well. we have been watching the history channels bible movie with the kids and pausing it to explain different scererios with the. So cool when they point out a discrepency from what the KNOW and what they have seen..but more so very interesting to see them so sad about the pain of the Cross for their friend Jesus who they know didn't deserve it. I always wonder why parents wait so long to share these heavy precious truths with children until they are older--when it is the littlest of children that get it, and think it odd that others wouldn't desire that same love, forgiveness and grace from Jesus. We teach from everything kids bibles, picture books and stories to the adult bible and movies, videos etc. One thing our five year old is LOVING is the audio bible from zondervan for kids. He listens to it anytime he is in his room and will just randomly quote scriptures and parables and stories to me--Gospel included. telling him about stuggling with pride the other day and he brings out a story aout Naaman and his issues with pride. so precious. Good job--teaching the truth!
